White chocolate cake pops


Happy little balls on a stick: cake pops. These white chocolate cake pops are the ideal treat for birthdays. Decorate them any way you want. In any color. A wonderful treat!


To make 20 white chocolate cake pops you need the following:

  • a prepared (chocolate) cake (or make your own)
  • cake pop sticks
  • 200 gr Candy Melts

  • mixer

  • baking paper

  • sprinkles

For the frosting:

  • 250 gr of butter
  • 250 gr of sugar powder
  • 2 spoons of milk
  • 1/2 spoon of vanilla extract
  • some salt

Step 1: crumble the cake

Add the cake to a large bowl and crumble it until it resembles fine crumbs.

Step 2: make the frosting

Mix the butter with the sugar powder in a large bowl until it is white and airy. Lower the speed of the mixer and add the rest of the sugar powder. Then add 2 spoons of milk and the vanilla extract. Mix everything firmly for about 3 minutes until it resembles a creamy and fluffy mixture.

Step 3: shape the cake balls

Add in frosting bit by bit until the cake is moist and can hold a ball shape but it still slightly crumbly. Use your hands to incorporate the frosting into the cake crumbs. Then you start rolling little balls of cake (circa 3-4 cm). Make sure the balls are not getting too big. Punch a little whole on the top of the cake ball with a toothpick (to stick in the cake pop stick later on). Add all cake balls on a plate covered with baking paper. Freeze for about 10-20 minutes, and another 5-10 minutes in the refrigerator. Remove from the refrigerator.

Step 4: melt chocolate and start dipping

Melt the chocolate or Candy Melts in a large cup. Dip the cake balls carefully into the chocolate until they are completely covered. Let the excess chocolate drip off. Swirl and tap if needed. Stick the cake pop stick into the small hole on top of the cake ball. ‘Glue’ it with some white chocolate.

Step 5: start decorating

Wait a few moments, but not too long, to decorate your cake ball. Then add the sprinkles or any other kind of decoration. Stick the decorated cake pops into a styrofoam block. Place into the refrigerator for a while and serve!
